"Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier" was the first film I can recall going to the theater to see. I also watched 'Daniel Boone' regularly when it was on. I don't *think* I had a coonskin cap, though.

One of his movie roles that was NOT mentioned was in John Wayne's "Island in the Sky", which also had Jim Arness in it. Parker played an Air Transport Command co-pilot. He had no lines; just got to stare intently out the front windscreen while the Pilot-in-Command talked on the radio in a couple of scenes. I don't recall whether he was Lloyd Nolan's co-pilot or Andy Devine's.

I heard the obit on NPR yesterday; now I need to see if I can find out if my Tully supplier can order me any of Parker's wines to try.

Your mentioning Arness got me curious — according to IMDb, Arness and his brother Peter Graves never acted together; the closest they came was when Graves directed an episode of "Gunsmoke."

Just to complete the circle, Graves also appeared on an episode of "Daniel Boone"...
