Barbara Bel Geddes, 1922-2005

Most people seem to remember her as Miss Ellie (I never watched "Dallas" all that much, despite (because of?) living in Texas). Others recall Maggie the Cat in the original run of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."

Me, I remember the knowing smile... of a scorned woman who has just gotten away with murder, in the quite possibly all-time best "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," "Lamb to the Slaughter."

Rest in peace, lady.
