Walked the few blocks over to Barnes & Noble today to let them handle the air conditioning for the evening. The plan was to do some brief book shopping (hah!) then spend the rest of the time in the cafe trying out the WiFi, now that I know it's free for me (the benefit of having an AT&T DSL connection at home). What I forgot to factor in was the early closure on Sunday. Oops. So I spent the five minutes I had left, after buying books, familiarizing myself with how to log in from there. Another option for a hot afternoon (also another option for when I'm on the road and need to go up periscope for a bit).
So, the haul:
Rihannsu: The Bloodwing Voyages Diane Duane (anthology comprising her Romulan sequence of Star Trek novels starting with My Enemy, My Ally)
Empire From the Ashes David Weber (ditto, for the series starting with Mutineer's Moon)
Dooms Day Book, Connie Willis
Summon the Keeper, Tanya Huff
Hellboy: Wake the Devil, Mike Mignola
The original plan was to get the first of the Temeraire books... which turned out to be the one they were out of.
There was another book I was highly amused to find -- but that is for another post...
